Aims and Objectives

 

Invictus Medical Services is committed to caring for people when and wherever the need arises. We will always aim to treat people with dignity, respect and compassion and in demonstrating our commitment to their needs and ensuring that they receive the help and support needed.

 

We will endeavour to ensure that all patients are given the appropriate care and to promote and aid their recovery from illness and injury.

 

We endeavour to provide our patients with the best possible care by providing our best clinical practice and to recognise the importance of both staff and patient feedback to continually explore and improve our care.

 

We are committed to setting and demonstrating high standards and ensuring that these standards are delivered, we look at ways of developing our staff’s skills and education thereby allowing both our staff and Invictus Medical Services to continually improve upon our care and professionalism.

 

Invictus Medical Services provides a range of services that ensures that we can meet both the needs of our patients and our clients within the sectors that we serve.

 

Within our services, patients can range from a minor injury or illness to those that are critically ill and injured. Patients can either self-present to our staff at events or be referred by an event team or organiser, where triage is undertaken and treatment is provided patients are categorised as 1,2 or 3 dependent on the severity:

 

  • Categorised 1 - Life threatening conditions where speed of the response may be critical in saving a life or improving the outcome of the patient.

 

  • Categorised 2 - Conditions which need to be attended to quickly, but which are not immediately life-threatening.

 

  • Categorised 3 – Non-Life-threatening conditions that may be appropriate for on-site treatment and not requiring the conveyance or referral to a Hospital or other health care provider.

 

Patient Transport Services are provided for non-emergency transfers and movements of patients to or from Independent, Private and NHS facilities. These include the transportation of ambulant, wheel-chair and stretcher patients.

 

These transfers may include but are not limited to:

 

  • Inpatient Admissions.

 

  • Out Patient.

 

  • Transfers between Hospitals.

 

  • Discharges from Hospitals, Care Facilities.

 

Emergency Transport Services can be provided providing emergency transport for patients.

 

This includes services providing the transportation that may include:

 

  • Repatriation (Airport to Hospital).

 

  • Repatriation (Foreign Country to Hospital).

 

  • Urgent transfers between Hospitals.

 

  • Medical Services where a patient presents as a Category 1 call.

  

Regulated Activities

 

Invictus Medical Services undertakes the following types of services in regards to the

 

Care Quality Commission:

 

  • Treatment of disease, disorder or injury

  • Clinical Assessment and Treatment at the scene of an incident.

 

Provision of a clinically skilled and trained members of staff:

 

Ambulance Care Assistants

Emergency Care Assistants

Emergency Vehicle Operatives

Emergency Medical Technicians

Nurses

Paramedics

Emergency Medical Practitioners

Doctors

 

Although not regulated by the Care Quality Commission we also provide First Aider's.

 

  • A range of skills to treat patients with either minor illnesses or injury to severe or critical illnesses and injuries.

  • Clinical assessment and treatment of patients en-route to appropriate healthcare facilities such as:

 

          Accident & Emergency (A&E) – Major, Minor and Resus.

          Minor Injuries Units / Urgent Care.

          Walk In Centres.

          Specialist Care Centres.

          Hospices.

          Tertiary Hospitals.

 

  • Clinical Support of patients requiring transfer and transport between facilities.

 

  • Transport Services, triage and medical advice provided ‘remotely’:

 

           Receipt of emergency calls when providing on-site medical cover.

           Triage of incidents where staff are in attendance on behalf of Invictus Medical                       Services

           Provision of verbal advice where appropriate.

           The dispatch of appropriate and adequate resources based on the clinical need and               information received.

           Clinical treatment of a patient at the scene, whilst awaiting further medical                         assistance.

           Clinical treatment of a patient on scene, followed by further treatment whilst being                ‘conveyed’ to an appropriate treatment facility.                   

           Provision of a Patient Transport Service on a non-emergency,

           scheduled basis.

           Provision of Emergency Transport Services on a scheduled basis.

           Provision of an Emergency Transport Service on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis.
